A free flu vaccination for the senior citizens of Southville, Brgy. Niugan, Cabuyao, Laguna was conducted by Stronghold Insurance Company, Inc. on October 25, 2019. The Vaccines Save Lives Program organized by Stronghold Insurance in collaboration with the Cabuyao Municipal Health Office benefitted 200 senior citizens of the barangay. Mr. Jose Vallejos, Jr., Assistant Vice President of Stronghold Insurance, said that they chose to conduct the activity in Brgy. Niugan due to its remoteness from town, resulting to inaccessibility to proper health care at times. He added that the CSR activity is part of Stronghold Insurance’s countdown celebration for its 60th anniversary in March next year. They aim to give back as much as possible to the community without whose presence the company wouldn’t be where it is now. Vaccines aren’t just for kids. If anything, it is especially important for older people to get vaccinated as their immune systems are weaker with their age, making it more difficult for them to fight off infections. With hope, the activity is just one of many with the goal of contributing to our lolos and lolas’ healthy aging.
